We collect very little, and we have deliberately turned down things we could have collected. This page says exactly what there is.

When you buy

Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us — we never see or store a card number.

Stripe passes us your email address so we can send your game link and a receipt. Those emails are sent through Resend. We use your email to deliver what you bought and to answer you if you write to us. We do not sell it, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

While you play

We record that a game was opened, which stops were completed, how long it took, and a rough device type such as iPhone or Desktop. This is how we find out that everyone is giving up at the same stop.

These records carry no name, no email address and no IP address. Phones in the same group share a random identifier so we can count one group as one group, and that identifier means nothing outside our own records.

What we deliberately do not collect

Your location. Our host offers an approximate town on every request and we turn it off. A paying customer’s real-time whereabouts is not something this business needs to know, so we do not take it.

On your own phone

How far you have got through a game is saved in your browser, on your device. It is how you can close the page and pick up where you left off. Clearing your browser data clears it, and we cannot read it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and our host’s own analytics to see how many visitors arrive, which pages they read, and roughly where they came from. This is counted in aggregate; we do not use it to identify anyone.

Having your data removed

Email support@escapethepark.com and ask. We will delete your email address and the play records tied to your purchase, and tell you when it is done.

We may have to keep the payment record itself: Stripe holds those, and tax rules require a business to keep a record of what it sold.
